Mikey's preschool is having Alphabet Shopping Day today where each child will Christmas shop for their family members. Two weeks ago each child drew a letter of the alphabet and was instructed to bring items to school that begin with that letter. The quantity of items is determined by the number of family members the child will be shopping for and the item must be appropriate for the gender & age of the family member. Mikey drew 'V' so we bought Violet gloves for a mom, Vanilla candles for a dad (some macho dads DO like candles!), a box of Very small books for a one year old and a Variety of jelly beans for a 4 year old. The night before Mikey's items were due, it dawned on me I'd forgotten an item representing my 15 year old stepson (he's with us every other week). I asked my wonderfully innocent husband to stop on his way home from work to buy an item that starts with 'V'. He picked up a jar of Vaseline........ALLRIGHTY. I made him exchange it for a tube of vaseline lip ointment.
Christmas craft #3 - chocolate cupcakes, 1/2 of which were licked by Mikey during the process. Anybody want one?
