The Big Apple

For the last 2 years, I've gone to New York City in October for a work conference and stayed a few extra days because I simply love love love that city. If it wasn't for my family and friends being on the West coast, I'd move in a heartbeat.

So I put the little rascal on homestudy for the week and put him to work.

Somebody actually had the blithering gallbladder to bring up child labor laws. Yeah, OK. It's torture for a 5 year old to spend a week in NYC with his mom. I let them know he's my spawn and I can do with him whatever I want. "Now get back to weaving that rug son!"

Having been there half a dozen times already, my poor overworked son Mikey has also come to love the city for it's parks and toy stores. From the minute we hit the door to FAO Schwartz, Mikey could hardly contain himself and danced through the entire 1st floor.

Which brings up the only down side to this trip - Mikey and I missed Jaden terribly and I'm hoping that by next year, she'll have become a better traveler and have matured enough to attend conferences. Otherwise I'll have to hogtie grandma and take her along so she can wonster-sit while I'm working.
